Few can dispute the physical , personal and educational benefits of sport. Children at Moor Park begin to learn team sports from the age of 7 with some of the skills taught from a much earlier age. Pupils spend at least 4 hours a week learning team sports, taught by experienced, qualified coaches. In addition, PE is taught to all, following the National Curriculum, incorporating swimming, gymnastics and dance. With acres of sports fields, a Sports Hall, the Henderson Hall a swimming pool, all-weather tennis/netball courts and a squash court, our children enjoy the finest of facilities.

In a typical year several children are selected to play for their counties in hockey, cricket and cross country. From 2000 to 2008, seven girls have been selected to play rounders for England - a remarkable achievement in any school, but especially so in one the size of Moor Park. At some point the majority of children will have the chance to represent their school in the wide variety of sports we play. While excellence is achieved by some, there is sport for all.

Matches against other schools are usually held on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons. Learning to play competitively as a team, to the best of ability, is the lesson in life. Winning is wonderful, but learning how to lose is also important. Meeting a 'better' side is always exciting. Playing against a school two or even three times the size of Moor Park is especially challenging and it draws the best from the children. They work together, for each other and for the team and their great disappointment, if they lose, is knowing they did not play to potential. Their greatest joy, however, is when they exceed all optimistic expectation, and they seem to do that rather often!
